Catherine Brown grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina. She is a proud double Tar Heel. She graduated with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also earned her law degree.

Prior to attending law school, Catherine volunteered with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Center in New Hanover County. As a volunteer, she helped mediators resolve self-initiated criminal cases.

Following her first year of law school, Catherine interned for the New Hanover County District Attorney’s Office. She then clerked for Cheshire Parker Schneider during the summer after her second year of law school. As a clerk, she developed experience in criminal and white-collar defense and took a leading role in a complex federal public corruption case.

Catherine joined Cheshire Parker Schneider as an attorney in 2016. She primarily works in the criminal defense section.

She is a member of the Wake County Bar Association, the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys, Wake Women Attorneys, and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
