Everyone loves a winner. But determining whether a client has “won” or “lost” in a family law case is not always so clear-cut, frequently depending upon the personal needs, values, and expectations of the individual client. Sometimes, though, something goes wrong in the legal process in a way that unmistakably and substantially affects a client’s rights. When that happens, the final result may deserve review by a higher authority.
