While
David has lived in Ohio, New Jersey, Miami and Winston-Salem, he considers Wake
County his home. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master
of Economics, both from North Carolina State University, and earned his Juris
Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in May of 2000.
While working on his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Miami, David
completed five tax classes, three of which were part of the School of Law’s LL.M.
program. David was admitted to the NC State Bar in August of 2000 and was
admitted to practice before all North Carolina state courts, United States
District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts, and the United States Tax
Court. Upon being admitted to the NC State Bar, David worked for Bell, Davis &
Pitt, P.A. in Winston-Salem before returning to Raleigh in March of 2002 to
start his own practice. In November of 2006, David was certified as a Board
Certified Specialist in Family Law. David’s background in economics, his tax
classes completed and his certification as a Specialist in Family Law provides
him with the necessary experience to understand the complex legal and financial
implications regarding divorce and estate planning and ensures that his client’s
interests are protected as he helps them navigate through the legal system.
David is a member of the Wake County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar
Association and the American Bar Association. He currently serves on committees
with the Wake County and North Carolina Bar Associations and has donated his
time through volunteer efforts organized by the Wake County Bar Association to
community programs such as building wheelchair ramps and speaking at seminars at
The Healing Place of Wake County. David has also been a member of Sigma Chi
Fraternity since 1989 and currently serves as Chapter Advisor of the Delta
Epsilon Chapter at North Carolina State University.
In December of 2008 David was elected to a two year term on the Board of
Directors of the Wake County Bar Association and 10th Judicial District Bar. In
2008 and 2009 he served on the Wake Family Court Rules Improvement Committee.
David has been recognized by his peers by being elected to Business North
Carolina magazine’s 2009 Legal Elite in family law.
